Happy Birthday Hatters!

Hatters Birmingham celebrates one full year in operation

Hatters Birmingham opened in November 2008 and is now approaching its 1st Birthday! It was once an old steel works sitting empty on Livery Street beside the Jewellery Quarter. Since Hatters set their eyes on it, the building has been completely transformed without losing its authentic feel and of course antique charm of the original building. It has no doubt been an innovative idea to accommodation. It wasn’t always plain sailing; there was a major rejuvenation job to be completed on this property before they could open their doors. Hatters offer hostels accommodation for those on a limited budget and in particular the youth market but it also has hotel type rooms for those who have a limited budget but want a room of their own. It is certainly a new concept to fuse both types together but somehow Hatters do it well!

There are 4 properties in the Hatters Group based in Birmingham, Liverpool and Manchester. Guests from other properties have made special trips to come stay in Birmingham just to experience the atmosphere it has to offer. Nationalities from all over the globe have arrived on the Hatters doorstep and the reviews online shows how well they enjoyed their stay.
On a practical note; when Hatters originally opened they employed 2 local people to now this has grown to 4 and it is expected to grow to 10 over the next year.

In celebration of their first birthday Hatters is hosting a ‘Mad Hatters Tea Party’ for staff of all of the Hatters Group and local partners. They are lavishing their guests with wine, champagne and of course tea. There will also be a ‘Silent Disco’ in their ‘Sccchhhhhh Be Quiet Room!’ No doubt it will be a fun night!

It has been a year worth celebrating as the operative year has exceeded the forecasted expectations and we hope they prosper even more in year 2.
