One of the First Holiday Inn Express Hotels in the UK
Express by Holiday Inn Walsall opened in November 2007, and has become an established player in the local Hotel market and is popular amongst business and leisure travellers alike. Located right next to junction 10 of the M6 its facilities include: 120 air conditioned bedrooms, reception and lounge, three meeting rooms and 120 free car parking spaces
On Friday 7th November 2009, the hotel celebrated its first birthday and invited along the Lord Mayor and Lady Mayoress of Walsall to celebrate. This was made all the more poignant as it is also the day that the hotel officially changes its name from “Express by Holiday Inn Walsall” to “Holiday Inn Express Walsall”. The hotel was one of the very first in the UK to rebrand from Express by Holiday Inn to Holiday Inn Express.
Intercontinental Hotels Group announced last year a rebranding programme for all Holiday Inn and Express by Holiday Inn hotels across the world. This was designed to refresh the customer experience within the brands. A number of improvements have taken place such as new, modern signage and logo, improved bedding and shower experience, improved music offering, a branded scent experience on arrival, and an improved appearance to the front entrance area. Most importantly, all staff within the hotel have also undertaken a customer service training programme called Stay Real designed to empathise with our guest’s experience and needs.
General Manager, Alan Northern comments: “The hotel has built a loyal customer base since opening and has continued to grow its sales significantly throughout the year. Along with the rebranding experience, the team at the hotel are confident of further growth”
