Scouting for Girls support at the Ricoh Arena, Coventry
A former Notts County winger is set to play at the Ricoh Arena in front of thousands of screaming fans.
However, it will be Sam Beeton’s talents as a singer and musician that will be on show in November rather than his fancy footwork on the pitch.
The Nottingham-born, 19-year-old, singer-songwriter has been announced as a further support act as part of the Scouting for Girls’ 30-date, nationwide tour, stopping off at the Ricoh Arena on Sunday, November 30.
Described as a ‘classic pop singer’, the multi-talented musician, who played left midfield for Notts County in his youth, is signed to the RCA Label Group.
Beeton, who began his music career performing acoustically in his local pub, The Old Volunteer, explains that his songs are more than just what they appear on first listen.
“I like songs that have more than one meaning,” he says. “Why should a lyric be open to only one interpretation?
“I like songs that mean one thing on the surface and something else once you dig that little bit deeper.”
The youngster has made a name for himself nationally with his debut single, ‘What you look for’, reaching number 41 in the charts and making it onto the A-list of the Radio 1 playlist.
Beeton will perform ahead of fellow support act, The Days, and headline act Scouting for Girls, in the Jaguar Exhibition Hall at the Ricoh Arena.
Liz Cooper, marketing director at the Ricoh Arena, said: “We are very much looking forward to having such a talented young artist here at the Ricoh Arena.
“With the completed line-up now announced, the Scouting for Girls gig will undoubtedly be a huge success which can only add to the growing reputation which the Ricoh Arena has as a live music venue.”
Beeton will join piano-based band The Days on Scouting for Girls’ tour of the country, which starts off in Bournemouth, and Liz believes the support acts will complement each other well.
She said: “The combination of Sam Beeton and The Days is one that I am sure will have music lovers in the region excited, and they will be the perfect support acts for Scouting for Girls.”
