Remembrance Sunday

Details:
A day of events and two services at the foot of the Armed Forces Memorial. The day offers the chance for families, friends and other visitors to pay personal tribute to those that have lost their lives in the service of the country.

Timings:
10:00 – Concert by West Midlands Police Brass Band & Corps of Drums and The Warwickshire Band
10:45 – Service led by Pastor Paul Owen DMS
10:59 – The Exhortation & Last Post
11:00 – Two minute silence
11:02 – Reveille
11:03 – The Kohima Epitaph
11:04 – Hymn, Prayers, National Anthem & The Blessing
14:15 - Service led by Pastor Paul Owen DMS
14:29 – The Exhortation& Last Post
14:30 – Two minute silence
14:32 – Reveille
14:33 – The Kohima Epitaph
14:34 – Hymn, Prayers, National Anthem & The Blessing
15:00 – Assembly at Ulster Grove, parade of standards and salute to High Sheriff of Staffordshire
15:45 – Sunset concert

Armistice Day

Details:
Service within the Armed Forces Memorial to mark the 90th anniversary of Armistice Day attended by His Royal Highness Honorary Rear Admiral Prince Michael of Kent GCVO RNR and Her Royal Highness Princess Michael of Kent.

Timings:
10:00 – Concert by Band of HM Royal Marines, Plymouth
10:20 – Parade of standards, all guests to be seated
10:39 – Arrival of Their Royal Highnesses accompanied by: Right Honourable Bob Ainsworth MP Minister of State for the Armed Forces, Vice Admiral Sir John Dunt KCB, Chairman of the Armed Forces Memorial Trustees, Colonel John Barkshire CBE TD JP DL Chairman of Trustees of the National Memorial Arboretum, Commander Charles Bagot Jewitt RN (Retd) DL, Chief Executive, National Memorial Arboretum
10:42 – Service led by former Bishop to the Armed Forces, The Right Reverend John Kirkham, The Reverend Monsignor Paul Donovan QHC VG Royal Navy and Honorary Chaplain to the Arboretum, The Reverend Simon Lumby
10:59 – The Exhortation& Last Post
11:00 – Two minute silence and shaft of sunlight falls through centre of Memorial
11:02 – Reveille
11:03 – The Kohima Epitaph
11:04 – Piper’s Lament and wreath laying
11:08 – Prayer, National Anthem and the Blessing
11:15 - Lichfield Cathedral Chamber Choir and laying of wreaths by individuals and organisations. Their Royal Highnesses tour the Memorial and depart
11:55 - Their Royal Highnesses assume position near Ulster Grove in readiness to take the salute
12:00 – Fly past of three RAF Tornados (South West to North West along Millennium Avenue) and march past begins
12:30 – Armed Forces Memorial reopens to the public
