A Smart Choice For Christmas Shopping at the Barber Institute of Fine Arts,Ikon Gallery, RBSA Gallery
Three of Birmingham’s top art galleries will be keeping their doors open late into the evening later this month (NOV 26) – and giving visitors a chance to begin their Christmas shopping in style.
Due to popular demand, the Barber Institute of Fine Arts at the University of Birmingham, home of the region’s best Old Masters and Impressionist gems, the achingly contemporary Ikon Gallery in Brindleyplace, and the small but perfectly formed Royal Birmingham Society of Artists Gallery on St Paul’s Square are again teaming up for Galleries Night, a special late opening, once more accompanied by the free Art Bus running between venues.
Free, hourly, guided tours will be held at all galleries, so there’s an opportunity to get to know the delights of the collections and exhibitions a little better – this time over a glass of mulled wine.
What’s more, visitors will be able to pick up a few early Christmas presents as they go along, and enter a free draw to win an original work of art from the RBSA, concert tickets for the Barber and an art book from Ikon.
Jewellery and works of art will be on sale at the RBSA, while art books and other gifts will be on sale at the Barber and Ikon. All three galleries will be open until 9pm.
