New face at the helm of NEC Arenas
The NEC Group, Birmingham, is delighted to announce the new managing director designate of its two world-class arenas.
Phil Mead, currently deputy director of events at the Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre (SECC), will take up the role in January.
Bringing over 20 years experience in the events industry, Phil will be responsible for overseeing operations at both The NIA and NEC Arena.
Previous positions include operations director at Cardiff International Arena and general manager at Greater Manchester Exhibition and Event Centre (G-Mex).
He will replace Linda Bull as managing director arenas when she takes early retirement in June 2007 after 20 years with the NEC Group.
Mr Mead said: “I am looking forward to taking on fresh challenges and building on the excellent work already in place.”
Paul Thandi, The NEC Group’s newly appointed CEO, said: “Phil will be a great addition to our management team. He shares our passion for delivering a first-class service to all our customer groups and has a strong vision for the future of our arenas. He is the perfect person to continue the exemplary work done by Linda Bull during her 20 years with the group.”
