Broadway Casino Celebrates Diwali, The Festival of Light
It’s Diwali this Saturday, the Hindu Festival of Light. A religious festival, that celebrates good over evil and light over dark.
Broadway Casino at Broadway Plaza will be hosting a major Diwali event on Sunday 25th October. The night will start with a fashion show by Tanushree Collections, showing for the first time by designer Titiksha Shah. There will also be a banquet fit for a Lord by Mirage Fusion restaurant.
Performing live will be Sur Sangheet. The group has come from India touring venues in the UK – their playlist includes classical songs, golden oldies as well as the latest Bollywood hits and Bhangra music.
This is an open event (to over 18’s) and there will be many events happening in the city over the next week. The Hindu community are hoping that the dark days of recession are behind us and that Diwali, the festival of light, will light up everyone’s life!
Hundus all over the world will be saying prayers to Laxmi, the Goddess of Wealth, and the skies will be lit by fireworks. People from all generations get together with friends and families… with food taking centre stage!
