CBSO’S Christmas Charity Appeal
The City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra is spreading some Christmas cheer by offering local charities the chance to raise important funds through a series of bucket collections at the Orchestra’s popular Christmas Concerts.
Each year, charities raise thousands of pounds through these collections, which take place at the end of the CBSO’s Christmas concerts at Symphony Hall, Birmingham. This year, the Orchestra is once again inviting local charities to submit an application, explaining what their charity does and how they would benefit from the money collected at these concerts. CBSO employees will make the final selection, based on the charities’ ‘pitches’.
Charities applying for this valuable opportunity should either be from the West Midlands, or have a local branch operating in the West Midlands area. Interested charities are invited to write, stating, in 100 words, why they should be considered and how the funds will benefit local people, with full contact details to Eve Smith at CBSO Centre, Berkley Street, Birmingham B1 2LF. The closing date for applications is Friday 14 November.
This year’s CBSO Christmas concerts will take place at Symphony Hall on Saturday 20 December (3 pm), Sunday 21 December (3 pm & 7.30pm) and Monday 22 December (3pm and 7.30pm). Presenter Carol Smillie will host the concerts.
