Local Hotel to Become Holiday Inn Birmingham – Bromsgrove
The Bromsgrove Hotel is going green in more ways than one. As well as adopting a new environmental policy, all things green will begin to appear over the next fortnight, as late October will see the birth of the Holiday Inn Birmingham - Bromsgrove.
Following 18 months of reinvestment and more to come between now and the New Year, the hotel will open its doors as Bromsgrove’s 1st Holiday Inn on 20th October.
Pedersen Hotels currently own and operate the hotel and will continue to do so under license from InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG). The company already operates 2 of its 6 hotels under licence from IHG; the Crowne Plaza Reading and Crowne Plaza London Ealing.
Siobhan Thomasson, General Manager, explained “being an independent hotel can be challenging at times, especially given the current climate. Following the re-brand, we can enjoy the best of both worlds, continuing to offer the same personal service of an independent hotel but with the benefits of being an internationally recognised brand. IHG is the world’s most global hotel company and I’m excited about being a part of that. Since we bought the hotel in 2005, we have enjoyed loyalty from so many local customers, now we’re excited about opening our doors to the international market too.”
Benefits to hotel customers and guests include 2 new loyalty programmes, express check in and extended breakfast and dinner hours. Guests will even be able to select their perfect pillow from the pillow menu in each bedroom!
In preparation for the license agreement, Pedersen Hotels have completed a £3.5 million investment programme over the last 18 months. This has included 110 new air conditioned bedrooms, 5 new meeting rooms and a new fitness suite. Reinvestment of a further £1.2 million has been announced and this will be spent on a new reception and lobby, complete by 20th October, and a brand new bar and restaurant in the New Year.
