Hotel Group Adopts The Encephalitis Society
Pedersen Hotels are delighted to adopt The Encephalitis Society as their chosen charity and hope to raise in excess of £5,000 this year, in support of them.
Encephalitis is inflammation of the brain caused by infection or by autoimmune disease. Encephalitis is indiscriminate, striking adults and children alike, showing no respect for age, gender, ethnicity or culture. Mortality rates are high and many of those who survive are left with an acquired brain injury, the degree and severity of which will vary.
Pedersen Hotels are a relatively young, independent hotel company with 6 contemporary hotels in the UK, including The Bromsgrove Hotel. They were introduced to the charity earlier this year by one of their customers.
Karim Sayani, Head of Sales & Marketing explained, “As a small company, it’s always our aim to appreciate the challenges that other small organisations face, especially when it comes to raising awareness amongst the biggest possible audience. Agreeing which charity to support is a difficult decision however when one of our customers introduced us to The Encephalitis Society, the decision became a simple one to make.”
“We are delighted to work with a charity that provides help and support to those who have suffered from Encephalitis. It’s also important to us that we are supporting people that haven’t suffered directly but are still hugely affected. The friends and family of people with an illness are often forgotten about and the Encephalitis Society’s commitment to all those affected is one of the reasons that we have chosen to support them.”
Ava Easton, Encephalitis Society said,"We are delighted to partner with Pedersen Hotels and look forward to working with them and all their staff over the coming months. Working with Pedersen Hotels so far has been like extending our Society family and retaining that personal touch is what both our organisations are about."
The hotel company will be raising funds for the charity throughout the year and activities include the sales & revenue team taking part the “Just Walk” challenge, which involves a 20 kilometre walk across the South Downs. Other activities include donating £1.00 from every online booking and the sales team washing as many cars as possible at the “Pedersen Carwash!”
During recent years the Society has been fortunate to secure Martin Kemp as its Patron, Mathew Bose (Emmerdale) as their ambassador and the internationally renowned neuropsychologist and researcher, Professor Barbara Wilson, OBE, as its President.
