Trade and Consumer Forum tackles mobile phones
Members of the public who have concerns about mobile phone deals are invited to a Trading Standards meeting tomorrow night (Tuesday 7 October).
The Trade and Consumer Forum meeting will look at problems associated with mobile phones, mobile phone companies, contracts and cash back deals.
Councillor Neil Eustace, Chair of the Public Protection Committee, said: “Issues around mobile phones are one of the biggest areas of complaint for Trading Standards. This meeting is aimed at looking at the problems consumers regularly encounter and what they can do to protect themselves.
“The meeting will also look at the collapse of Mobile Connections last year which left thousands of customers without the cash back they had been promised and will hear from mobile phone regulator Ofcom and mobile phone Ombudsmen.”
It will take place at 6.15pm in the Council House and there is free on-street parking in Edmund Street, Margaret Street and Cornwall Street from 6pm.
