What’s on at Thinktank and IMAX Cinema November 2007

Thinktank and IMAX Cinema at Millennium Point have a whole host of exciting activities and lively events to entertain all the family this winter.  From fun family science shows and LEGO workshops to evening events and Christmas movies at the IMAX Cinema, there’s something to suit everybody.

New family shows and activities at Thinktank include:

• Blast Off! Planetarium Show- fly through the galaxy and soar through the solar system, without stepping a foot outside!  Take in the view enjoyed by the first people in Space and discover why the human race will have to depart planet Earth to find a new home in the distant future.
• Bubbles and Bangs! This family science show really goes with a BANG!  Come and see how bubbles can explode and or expand large enough to hold a person. Also discover how balloons break the sound barrier.
• LEGO RoboLab. Program our LEGO robots to carry out exciting challenges in our new workshop!

And over at the IMAX Cinema, National Geographic’s new giant-screen film “Sea Monsters 3D: A Prehistoric Adventure” is wowing audiences of all ages.  See some extraordinary marine reptiles of the dinosaur age brought to life on the world’s biggest screens, and marvel as these giants literally swim off the screen and into the audience!

This month also sees the return of The Polar Express 3D to the IMAX Cinema.  Back by popular demand, The Polar Express 3D is the magical story of a doubting young boy, who on Christmas Eve, lies in bed hoping to hear the sound of reindeer bells from Santa's sleigh.  To his surprise a steam engine roars outside his window and the conductor (Tom Hanks) invites him aboard.  Soon he is on his way to the North Pole to find out if Santa really exists.
