OPEN DOORS AT THE DRUM

As a young person, have you ever thought about working in the theatre? If you’re a teacher or youth group leader have you ever thought of highlighting the theatre as a career?

Come along to The Drum on Sat 10 Nov to discover the world of working in the theatre as we open our doors. As part of a country-wide initiative by Arts Council England called the Young People’s Participatory Theatre project, we are running a day of interactive events and workshops highlighting opportunities in the theatre for young people who are thinking about their future careers.

Theatre isn’t just about performing. Theatre needs a constant supply of highly skilled professionals to enable performances to happen. From administration and financial to marketing, technical, programming or running a box office, the theatre has the widest range of jobs to suit the widest range of people. Open Doors is a great opportunity for young people to find out about employment and participation in these areas.

Whoever you are, wherever you’re from, if your aged 14 to 25, come to The Drum on 10 Nov to meet theatre professionals, find out about career paths and take part in hands on workshops and taster sessions. By meeting in-the-know arts professionals, you’ll be able to find out where to train and how to use your skills in a whole new world you may never have considered.

“If you are thinking about having a career in the theatre industry and you want to know what it’s like working in a fast pace cultural theatre setting then this is the event you need to be at!” Oluwatoyin Odunsi, Arts Development Manager, The Drum
