Budding photographers are invited to get involved with the British Asian Hafta

Budding photographers are invited to get involved with the British Asian Hafta, taking place between 27th October and 9th November, by creating an artistic skyline of photographs in front of the BBC WM studios, situated in The Mailbox.

BBC WM is scanning the region for photographs which best represent British Asian life in the West Midlands. Images that express your feelings about Asian life should be dropped in to the BBC Birmingham Public Space and added to the panoramic skyline that is taking shape stretched across the BBC Asian Network and BBC WM radio studio windows.

The final piece of art will then be showcased at Millennium Point as part of the British Asian Hafta celebrations on the 11th November, hosted by BBC WM’s Satnam Rana.

As well as dropping into the BBC Public Space with contributions to the skyline mosaic, images can also be emailed to midlandsmasala@bbc.co.uk - Photographs added to the skyline should be copies, as originals can not be returned.

British Asian Hafta celebrates the special contribution made to the UK by the British Asian community. Comprising a host of activities, including cultural, business and media events, the two week long celebrations are led by the City of Birmingham and will see activities taking place throughout Birmingham, the West Midlands and the rest of the UK.

In addition, all the usual BBC Birmingham Public Space attractions and amenities are available including the BBC Shop, a café, viewing screens through to the radio studios and BBC Midlands Today gallery and touch screen computers with access to information on BBC programmes, jobs and careers.

All visitors can have a go at being Nick Owen or Suzanne Virdee for the day by having a go at reading the news and weather on a special green screen – then sending it to the internet to be able to view it again later.
