Chocolate… Finally Unwrapped
It is official, Chocolate has launched in Birmingham and a “who’s who” of the Birmingham ‘it’ crowd were there to celebrate the night in style. The newly opened boutique club and members bar has well and truly taken pride and place in the city of Birmingham.
Chocolate opened its doors to a selected few at its VIP launch on Thursday 18th December 2008. Guests were greeted at the door with champagne, canapés and Chocolates very own hostess. Guests were able to sample a range of cocktails from Chocolate’s menu including the official Dita Von Teese cocktail – Cointreauteese which is exclusive to Chocolate. Chocolate offers a dedicated table service, musical excellence and levels of comfort comparable to that of the highest international standards. It takes it lead from London’s private members clubs in London’s West End.
All who attended were treated like VIP’s and were able to taste the decadence that is Chocolate. The ethos behind Chocolate is aimed at introducing the standard of service commonly found in the capital. This concept is a first for Birmingham and it is the job of Chocolate to anticipate the needs and requirements of each of their members. Chocolate operates a book in advance policy; this allows Chocolate to prepare for members and guest arrivals, making their experience as pleasurable of possible.
Guests at the launch included fashion designers Jacob Kimmie, Gavin Douglas, and Sulaimi Brookman. Along with television and radio personalities; BBC Midlands’ Ashley Blake, ITV’s Lucy Kite and Heart FM’s Steve Denyer and Ed James.
Nothing has been left to chance, from its décor and employees down to its attitude and music, Chocolate sets the standard. Guests were intrigued by its outlandish thrones and theatrical chez lounges’. The service and lifestyle that is offered are all tailored to the bespoke needs of the guests and members providing a boutique and intimate atmosphere unique to the market place.
Chocolate consists of two VIP areas, two bars, a members VIP bar area and an outside terrace. Located on Suffolk Street next to the Mailbox, it is the ideal location for those who work in the city or venture into Birmingham at the weekend.
When asked why Birmingham was chosen for the home of Chocolate, Richard Fawcett, General Manager and Mixologist said “There were many factors involved in the decision to create Chocolate members club. The main one being that there was a glaringly obvious lack of decent standards and creative edge in the market, as it was only a matter of time before culture in this sector catches up with the city.”
